Education Director
Rachel Shoumaker
Meet Rachel Shoumaker of Correctionville, Rachel is our Education Director for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom. She joined our team in 2023. We are excited to have her on our team. Rachel reaches 450 students per month.
Rachel grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton Bronson in 2006. After high school she attended Briar Cliff University majoring in Social Work. Rachel lives in Correctionville on an acreage, raising horses, chickens goats and dogs.
Rachel joined Woodbury County Farm Bureau in 2019. Rachel currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for Woodbury County Farm Bureau.
Educator - Ida County
Danika Hinkeldey
Meet Danika Hinkeldey of Ida Grove, Danika is currently one of our educators for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom. She came on board this year with us. Danika currently serves the Ida County community school districts of OABCIG and Ridge View. She reaches up to 160 students each month.
She has worked in the schools over the last 10 years serving as the Ida County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Coordinator teaching lessons to students of all ages to gain knowledge about the importance of agriculture and its value.
She grew up on her family farm raising sheep and cattle along still does to this day. Her grandparents have a cattle operation in Ida County. During her younger years she showed cattle at the county, state, and national level.
Danika graduated from BCIG High School in Ida Grove in 2004. After high school she attended Des Moines Area Community College majoring in Business Administration, graduating in 2006. She moved back home to partner with her father in the photography business, purchased it in 2007 the family business Knop Photography and continues to operate.
In 2012, Danika joined the Ida County Farm Bureau staff as the Office Administrator and currently serving as the Outreach Coordinator, and Ag in the Classroom representative for Ida County. She has three beautiful children and her husband who works for Beck’s Hybrids.
Working for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom and Ida County Farm Bureau has been very impactful for her. She said, “It’s very rewarding going into the classroom to provide knowledge and valve of agriculture to the future.”
