Executive Director
Danika Hinkeldey
Meet Danika Hinkeldey of Ida Grove, Danika is our Executive Director for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom. She came on board this year with us.
Danika currently served the Ida County community school districts of OABCIG and Ridge View. She reaches up to 160 students each month.
She has worked in the schools over the last 10 years serving as the Ida County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Coordinator teaching lessons to students of all ages to gain knowledge about the importance of agriculture and its value.
She grew up on her family farm raising sheep and cattle along still does to this day. Her grandparents have a cattle operation in Ida County. During her younger years she showed cattle at the county, state, and national level.
Danika graduated from BCIG High School in Ida Grove in 2004. After high school she attended Des Moines Area Community College majoring in Business Administration, graduating in 2006. She moved back home to partner with her father in the photography business, purchased it in 2007 the family business Knop Photography and continues to operate.
In 2012, Danika joined the Ida County Farm Bureau staff as the Office Administrator and currently serving as the Outreach Coordinator, and Ag in the Classroom representative for Ida County. She has three beautiful children and her husband who works for Beck’s Hybrids.
Working for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom and Ida County Farm Bureau has been very impactful for her. She said, “It’s very rewarding going into the classroom to provide knowledge and valve of agriculture to the future.”

Educator - Woodbury, Plymouth, Monona
Terah Nelson
Meet Terah Nelson of Lawton, Terah is one of our Educators for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom. She joined our team in February of 2025. We are excited to have her on our team. She covers Woodbury, Plymouth and Monona County. She visits all of the Sioux City schools along with the surrounding schools in Woodbury, Plymouth and Monona. Terah impacts over 2000 students a month for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom.
Terah and her family live in Lawton, Iowa with her husband, Cody and two kids, Tucker and Avery. They live on a small farm where they have chickens, cows, a couple of dogs and cats. Terah was born and raised in Lawton and grew up on a Century Farm. Her family raises cattle, Belgians, hogs and chickens. In addition to livestock, they also plant corn, alfalfa and oats.
She was involved in 4-H through her school years. Terah graduated from Lawton Bronson in 2006. After graduation she attended WITCC for a degree in Veterinary Assistant. Upon graduation she got a job with Lakeport Veterinary Hospital in Sioux City assisting clients and patients with their pets for 17 years.
She is so excited to share her passion for agriculture with the next generation.

Educator - Sioux, Lyon, O'Brien and Plymouth
Kara Jensen
Meet Kara Jensen of Hawarden, Kara is one of our Educators for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom. She joined our team in the Fall 2024. We are excited to have her on our team. Kara reaches 3200 students per month.
Kara grew up on an acreage outside of Hawarden, Iowa, raising dairy goats. Through 4-H, she had done projects with meat goats, bottle/bucket calves, and swine. She has shown her herd of Toggenburg dairy goats at the county, state, and national level since 2000.
Kara graduated from West Sioux High School and continued her education at South Dakota State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Dietetics. I had a career change when life moved me to Iowa City and worked as an optician there for 4 years until my daughter was born in 2022.
Since then, she found herself and daughter back home and working in the agriculture industry that she always loved.

Kara joined Lyon County Farm Bureau in 2024. Kara currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for Lyon County Farm Bureau and Educator for Siouxland Ag in the Classroom.
